It's tough for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The greatest achievements have been successfully scaled.

This is the unit that has won seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to an additional six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed over three years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, those for the record chasers, are all that remain for a team that has won it all.

The fact it required as late as Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase exceeding 300, regaining their record for the highest in the women's 50-over format, is, honestly, a testament to the pitchers that have sported the yellow jersey over the last half-century.

It's challenging for their hitters to maintain a record if never given the chance.

In the end, the consequence of Australia giving up 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy getting a platform to create her latest masterpiece.

Initially recognized as the young family member of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after Australia couldn't capture either of the T20 or ODI World Cups held the previous year and has experienced everything through 15 successful years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup came three months after her debut and seven world titles have come from 10 attempts across formats.

The gritty keeper was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India temporarily stopped the run of success.

That loss "drove us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy commented earlier.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the championship match and was awarded tournament MVP. She guaranteed her country would not come up short.

Whether this recent magnificent innings surpassed that earlier display remains open for discussion.

Certain people claim the reasoning behind final game tension. Others can counter with the test that comes when confronting a historic chase and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What is certain is this century was much more difficult to predict.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 happened while she was the highest scorer, but this performance was preceded by six games in India since the start of last month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"If you've been watching me in training, it has been a disappointing period because it appeared I've had no rhythm completely," commented Healy.

"Yet the moment you take the field, your fighting spirit kick in and you just lock into the competition."

Healy's competitiveness has always been her great strength - and a priceless quality in taking over from famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, out to the emerging pace bowler in each encounter, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's inspiration.

A single came off Gaud's first delivery and from there Healy was on her way.

"The possibility to go out there and face the challenge with her and simply enjoy myself in that regard, sort of got me going," commented Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 pitches - her quickest at the global tournament - and her century in 84 deliveries while she attacked short-pitched balls, scoring 21 fours and three maximums.

When she was removed Australia needed 66 more at one run per ball - an unconquered height now needing a comfortable finish.

"Pursuing 330 is new territory so I'm happy we have the assurance to accomplish that now," stated Healy further.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it another time but, should it happen, we believe we can achieve it."

That comment will be the last competing nations at this World Cup should hear.

Over the past five days a belief they will win from any position has become more firm - this victory coming after win against Pakistan by 107 runs despite struggling at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a match against longtime competitors England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final place may well be secure.

It was at that stage they left the previous year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - an encounter Healy was absent due to ruptured tissue in her foot as she led her country for the initial instance at a significant event.

So strong is her resolve, she afterwards commented she regretted not playing with the discomfort.

Yet even as she later admitted those injuries have delayed consideration of ending her career, this World Cup is likely to be her final tournament as skipper in ODI cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a world championship as leader.

Success in India would lead her to the peak of her ultimate challenge.
